The essay discusses the use of solvent gel Carbopol to delaminate pressure sensitive adhesive tape, in particular, filmoplastÒ products. After an overview of the general construction, composition and the technical properties of adhesive tapes, the focus will be placed on the ageing processes of adhesive tapes which have a basis of rubber or acrylics. The filmoplastÒ adhesives strips were subjected to various ageing tests. The results of the ageing experiments were compared with the damage reports of the objects. After an overview of the lamination techniques of adhesive tapes, the possible use of solvent gel Carbopol in the removal of filmoplastÒ adhesives strips was investigated in various test series. The filmoplastÒ adhesive tapes could be partially detaches and, in come cases removed entirely. Pressure sensitive adhesive tapes should not be used in the conservation of paper objects.
